Shayna's Wedding at Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse

April 24, 2026. Saanichton. A forest ceremony, an orchard cocktail hour, and a reception with a view that did most of the decorating itself. Shayna wrote in to share her vendor lineup, and every name on it earned the spot.

"every vendor was perfect. I'd recommend all of them."

The day at a glance

  • Date: April 24, 2026
  • Venue: Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse, Saanichton
  • Photographer: Isle of Gabby Photography
  • Style: Forest ceremony, orchard cocktail hour, blossom-season reception
  • Couple in one line: Big cider fans who wanted a venue that felt magical without feeling fussy

The Venue: Sea Cider Farm & Ciderhouse

Sea Cider was the "love at first visit" venue. As big cider fans, the fit was personal before it was practical, but the practical side held up too.

What Shayna loved:

  • Forest ceremony space. Private, tucked away, perfect for nature lovers
  • Orchard in bloom. Late April apple blossoms do a lot of the visual work
  • Orchard Patio cocktail hour with lawn games for guests
  • Reception with a view. Plenty of room for a full guest list, and the view kept guests at the windows
  • Scales up or down. Worked for their group. Would work for an intimate one too
  • Staff. Quick replies, calm coordination, no complaints

tip: Sea Cider came in at a friendlier price point than Shayna expected for a venue this scenic. Worth getting a current quote in your shortlist.

The Photographer: Isle of Gabby Photography

Every photo in this post is Gabby's. She also shot Shayna's engagement session, which made the wedding day feel less stiff in front of the camera.

Why Shayna picked her:

  • Easy to be around. "We aren't great in front of a camera, and she made us look great."
  • Detail coverage. Nothing got missed, nothing felt rushed
  • Strong communication through the lead-up
  • Bouquet preservation as a bonus. Gabby has started preserving wedding bouquets, so she took Shayna's at the end of the night. No drop-off, no logistics

The Dress + Alterations

Dress: The White Peony. Shayna's words: "as someone who is indecisive, this experience was great." The team was patient through the searching and quick to bring her back when she was ready to say yes. She picked up her veil from them too, and it was a perfect match for the gown.

Alterations: Lily Kennedy Custom Gowns. A heavily beaded gown is not an easy alteration job, and Lily nailed it: top taken in, custom bustle built, hem set. Fast turnaround, perfect fit. A booking Shayna would make again in a heartbeat.

Day-of Coordination: Marisa Vieira

Shayna debated whether to book a planner at all. She is glad she did.

What Marisa handled:

  • Decorating the reception space (Shayna was very impressed with the result)
  • Wrangling the flower girl and ring bearer
  • Stepping in when something needed to be advocated for
  • Keeping the day calm enough to actually enjoy it

note: "I'm so glad I booked a coordinator" is by far the most common piece of post-wedding feedback we hear. If your venue doesn't include one, a day-of is the booking that quietly saves the day.

DJ: Lee Entertainment (Abraham Lee)

Abraham went above and beyond. Guests complimented the music. The dance floor stayed packed. Shayna and her husband loved it.

Hair & Makeup: Haley Anne Beauty

Shayna doesn't usually wear much makeup and worried she would end up looking like a stranger in her own photos. Haley listened, kept it natural, and didn't push.

"she really listens. she isn't pushy at all."

Bonus: Haley was easy to spend the morning with, which counts for a lot when you've been awake since 5 a.m.

Transportation: L.A Limousine

A party bus moved the wedding party from Sea Cider into Victoria for an after party at Swans Pub. The driver helped sort out a Bluetooth issue without being asked twice. Communication was clean throughout.

Florals: Kenmar Flower Farm + Family

Shayna split her florals across three sources, and it worked beautifully:

  • Bulk flowers from Kenmar Flower Farm. Beautiful product, a smart way to stretch a floral budget
  • Centerpieces by her maid of honour. A personal touch with a stunning result
  • Bouquet by her mother-in-law, built with flowers from a family friend's garden

If you have a creative friend or family member, this kind of split is a great way to bring people into your day without losing the look you want.

A note from Shayna

Thank you to every vendor. Our day was perfect, and it wouldn't have worked out as well without all of you.
