What Island venues actually cost
Community halls and public parks start around $2,000 for the day. Smaller farms and restaurant private rooms land in the same range. Private farm and estate venues run $8,000 to $15,000 and up. Full-service resorts sit above that.
Watch the rentals math. A barn that looks cheap can blow past a resort total once you add tables, chairs, lights, and bathrooms. Compare full numbers, not headline rates.
Where to look by region
Victoria has the most options and the easiest guest access, and it prices like it. The best-known venues there book 12 to 18 months out.
Nanaimo and Parksville / Qualicum sit mid-Island with better value and solid vendor availability. Cowichan Valley is vineyard and farm country. Comox Valley gives you gardens and mountain views without the crowds. Port Alberni, Comox, Nanaimo, Sooke, and Ladysmith often run 20 to 40% under Victoria for the same day.
Tofino and Ucluelet have the most dramatic coastline on the Island. Higher costs, fewer local vendors, and weather you plan around instead of hoping. The Gulf Islands suit a smaller guest list that doesn't mind the ferry.
When to book
Summer Saturdays go 9 to 12 months out, and the well-known venues go further. If your date can move at all, move it. Plenty of Island venues drop 20 to 30% outside June through September, and a Friday in October against a Saturday in July at the same place can be a $3,000 to $5,000 swing.
