Boutique Toronto wedding DJ with 15 years' experience, specializing in high-end events with personalized music and open-format, room-reading style.

About

Rich has been DJing weddings, corporate events, and private parties across Toronto for 15 years. He works exclusively in open format, meaning he reads the room and builds a natural musical progression from cocktails and dinner into a high-energy dance party. He specializes in high-end weddings at Toronto's landmark venues—Casa Loma, the Art Gallery of Ontario, Hotel X, Evergreen Brick Works, and others—and regularly travels to Muskoka, Prince Edward County, and beyond.

He takes one wedding per day, doesn't subcontract, and spends the morning of your event reviewing your playlist and confirming the timeline with your planner. His approach is to use guest requests as a foundation but make real-time calls based on crowd energy. He's been featured in Toronto Life, Wedluxe, and Weddingbells; won The Knot's Best of Weddings award in 2020; and was named to Post City Magazine's Toronto Top Wedding Pros list in 2024 and 2025.

Every booking includes a signed contract, professional sound system, MC services, wireless mics for speeches, and dance floor lighting. Ceremony audio, cocktail hour setup, uplighting, and destination travel are available as add-ons.

FAQs

How far in advance should I book?

Peak season Saturdays (May through October) typically book 10 to 14 months in advance, as Rich only takes one wedding per day. Winter weddings and weekday events have more flexibility, but you should reach out as soon as your venue is confirmed.

How do you handle music requests from guests?

Rich encourages couples to share their must-plays and do-not-plays in advance. On the night, guest requests are welcome, but he uses his judgment to keep the energy and vibe on track. If a request fits the crowd and moment, it goes in. If not, he'll find another time for it or gently decline.

Do you provide ceremony audio?

Yes. Ceremony audio is a separate add-on setup that includes a dedicated speaker system, a wireless mic for your officiant and readers, and music for the processional, signing, and recessional. Rich coordinates directly with your officiant on timing cues.
