Dragon's Lodge is a 5-acre oceanfront property on Gabriola Island designed for intimate weddings, family reunions, and corporate retreats. The main lodge is 6,500 sq. ft. and sleeps up to 30 people across 11 ocean and forest view rooms. Another 8 cedar cabins dot the property for additional guests. On event day, you can host up to 80 people total.
The setting is the real draw: panoramic ocean views, dramatic cliffs, and a private lake, tucked away in nature but just a 20-minute ferry from Nanaimo. The lodge gives you a blank canvas to plan your own wedding style. They don't do packaged events, but they provide a contact list of caterers, photographers, rentals, and other vendors to help you build what you want. Amenities include a full kitchen, two BBQs on the deck, basic sound system, and furniture you can move around to create a dance floor.
Note: No on-site catering, no RVs or tents allowed on the grounds, no full-time caretaker (though the manager lives nearby). Gabriola's noise bylaw prohibits amplified outdoor music anytime.
