I’m JoAnne, and I create modern, boutique-style wedding ceremonies that deserve to be the star of your day.

Can a friend or a family member officiate our ceremony?
Legally, no. Ceremonially, absolutely!
In B.C., for a marriage to be it must be solemnized by a registered officiant (me!) or marriage commissioner.

I don't know what goes into a wedding ceremony! Where do I start?
You do not need to arrive with all the answers. That is part of what I am here for (and trust me - you are not alone!)
I start by explaining what is legally required in B.C., what is traditional, and what is completely optional.
From there, I’ll guide you through the options, help you figure out what feels right, and give you plenty of ideas along the way.
You can keep the traditions you love, change them, simplify them, or create something completely your own.
What Is the difference between an Officiant (you) and a Commissioner?
In B.C., both can legally perform marriages. Marriage Commissioners are appointed by the Province and perform civil ceremonies using approved wording.
Officiants, also called celebrants, are registered through recognized organizations, have more formal training, and can offer much more flexibility in how a ceremony is created.
For my couples, that means a ceremony built around you, with more time, collaboration, personalization, and support before your wedding day.
