Weddings by Karin
Licensed Ontario marriage officiant offering personalized ceremonies, legal signing services, and vow renewals.
About
Weddings by Karin is a team of licensed Ontario officiants founded in 2017 as a passion project by Karin Desveaux, who moved to Prince Edward County from Toronto and now teaches culinary arts full-time at Loyalist College. The team works with couples to create ceremonies tailored to their style and preferences, whether short and sweet or more elaborate, with options to use templates or fully customize wording and readings.
Services include full marriage ceremonies (opening remarks, readings, vows, ring exchange, license signing), legal signing for couples who need an officiant to witness paperwork without a ceremony, and vow renewal celebrations. The team handles all provincial documentation and sends completed forms to Service Ontario via registered mail.
The officiants work entirely in a welcoming, inclusive space that fiercely supports marriage equality. Couples can collaborate via email, phone, Zoom, or FaceTime to finalize ceremony details, and in-person meetings are available if scheduling allows. Rehearsal participation costs $150.

FAQs
Can couples customize the wording of their ceremony?
Yes, as long as provincial legalities are met. Karin provides couples with templates they can edit by adding, cutting, or deleting content with her assistance to create a uniquely personal ceremony.
How are meetings conducted before the wedding?
Most couples work exclusively via email, phone, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or FaceTime until they are satisfied with the ceremony script and plan. In-person meetings are offered if scheduling and location permit.
When does the officiant arrive on the wedding day?
The officiant arrives approximately 45 minutes before the ceremony to collect the marriage license and complete necessary paperwork with the couple.
